The GSUSA
membership year runs from October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013. The
typical “troop year” begins in September and usually wraps up in late May or
early June. For many families, the fall
is chaotic as they adjust to the new school year. So, GSCNC provides the opportunity for girls
and adults to register for the next Girl Scout year before troops take the summer “off”.
Why Early
Bird?
Early-Bird
registrants will receive a 100th commemorative patch or rocker when they
register for the 2012-2013 year.
When a Troop
Early Birds 50% of their "active" girls no later than June 29, 2012
they will receive a $20.00 GSCNC Shop coupon!
Easier for
the girl and parents to decide on which school/extra curricular activities to
participate in when they are already registered
Allows the Leader (s) better planning for the fall events and allows time to find
volunteers to take key positions within the Troop.
You get
bumped up to the beginning of the line if you are on a waiting list for a new
troop in the fall.
Girls are
set for initial fall Council, SU, and troop activities
Girls will
have priority for fall events when they are registered early.
It is easier
to add more girls to your troop when the troop is already registered
Specific details will be given at the April
Service Unit Meeting!!
